Our highlighted item for July is a Chinese red lacquered medium-sized
cupboard with legs. It is decorated with gold leaf butterfly motif, a symbol of happiness.
The interior has a single removeable shelf and the base shelf is recessed. Made of elm, it was likely constructed in
Shanxi province at the end of the 19th century. Its dimensions are H:33”, W:25”, D:17”.
